GRP Trimmer Operative

Due to increasing demand, CSA Recruitment are looking to assist our long standing client expand its production teams and is seeking a versatile_ Trimming Operative_ on a temp – perm basis. The trimmer is responsible for trimming and preparing GRP components following panel creation. The role ensures components meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards prior to assembly. This position requires attention to detail, and safe use of trimming tools and equipment.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role suited to individuals with a practical mindset, a keen eye for detail, and an appreciation of accuracy and fit in engineered products. Previous GRP or manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Pay Rate: £12.21 (probationary period – 12 weeks)
Increasing if probation is passed successfully.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:15

Key Responsibilities:

• Trim and finish GRP mouldings.
• Remove excess laminate and mould seams.
• Prepare edges, cut-outs, apertures, and joint details to specification drawings.
• Drill, countersink fixing points as required.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy to technical drawings.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation.
• Report non-conformities or material defects to supervisors.

Skills and experience required.

• Competent using hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Health and Safety awareness.

Skills & Attributes

• Practical experience with hand tools and general manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications
• Appreciation of design tolerances and dimensional accuracy
• Good understanding of basic measurements and the importance of repeatability
• A methodical approach and keen eye for detail
• Willingness to learn GRP composite processes and follow instructions
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a production team.
